CANCELLATION OF YOUR BOOKING
- Accommodation fees (the total nightly rate you’re charged) are refundable in certain circumstances as outlined below.
- Diving fees (the total rate you’re charged) are refundable in certain circumstances as outlined below.
- A reservation is officially canceled when the guest contacts the Shamar Guesthouse via SMS or Email and receives a confirmation
- We will try to re-let the relevant room after cancellation of an overnight stay. If we succeed, we will take this into account when making a refund. Please note that we will charge a service fee for this.
- We give you the opportunity to get a replacement guest for your travel period. If the replacement guest submits a binding booking, you will not be charged any cancellation fees.
- The flat-rate refund for cancellations is usually per person/per accommodation unit:
CHECK-IN POLICY
- Rooms can be occupied on the day of arrival from 2pm.
CHECK-OUT POLICY
- Rooms must be left no later than 11am on the day of departure. An extension of this time can be requested on site. We reserve the right to charge for this extension.
- All outstanding invoice amounts (e.g. drinks and meals) are to be paid in cash on site on the day of departure.
ISSUANCE OF VOUCHERS
Please note that we will issue you a voucher in case of cancellation due to unexpectedly occurring, extraordinary and unavoidable events (force majeure). This voucher has a maximum validity of 24 months.
In case of the COVID-19 pandemic, this voucher will only be issued in the event of a closure of Maamigili Island based on the associated entry restriction. Please note that we cannot issue vouchers if you have been refused entry for other reasons. . These include but are not limited to:
- Travel restriction of your home country due to COVID-19.
- Inadequate COVID-19 vaccination coverage
- No negative COVID-19 test result
- No COVID-19 recovery certificate
In this case, the contractually regulated cancellation conditions apply.

MEAL TIMES FOR FULL BOARD GUESTS
Our full board guests are served during the following times:
- Breakfast 05.00am – 09.30am
- Lunch 12.00am – 02.00pm
- Dinner 6.00pm – 08.00pm
Food and drinks can of course also be ordered individually by our guests outside these times. The costs for this are explicitly NOT included in the full board and will be charged according to the currently valid prices of the food and beverage menu.

If the guest arrives and decides to leave early, 100% of the accommodation and diving fees for the nights not spent must be payed.
Dives which have been booked in advance and cannot be carried out on site due to illness will be refunded less handling charges. In case of a partial cancellation of booked dive packages we reserve the right to adjust the price.
